Timber frame project in Hoole: now complete

Viewed from the outside, anyone looking at this neo-Georgian house would not know that it is not a traditional brick and block construction.

Aesthetically, there is no major difference between a timber frame house and a traditional build.

We have expertise in both types so our clients can choose their preference and whichever is more suitable for a particular site.

Timber frame self-build house in Hoole

Our timber frame house in Hoole is now progressing rapidly. The exterior brick ‘skin’ has now been built, the roof is complete and the windows are in. Our tradespeople have been very busy over the last few weeks so all the plumbing and electrics have been installed.

Pre-start: building a timber frame self-build in Hoole, Chester

We were very pleased to find a plot of land for a self-build on Stone Place, in the centre of Hoole, on the outskirts of Chester, with outline planning permission for building a house.

As space was quite tight and access somewhat restricted, we started thinking about building a timber frame house, rather than our usual brick and block build.

Setting the stage: modern replacement dwelling reaches second fix

8th November 2023

Our replacement dwelling in Timperley is now at the second fix stage. The stunning balcony leading off the master bedroom, with views over the back garden, will be installed shortly.

When the house is finished, this will be a space for relaxation, with low maintenance container planting and perhaps a couple of recliners so the owners can enjoy relaxing in the evening sunshine.

The shop on the ground floor of our Blagg’s Court development in the heart of Tarporley is now open.
Meanwhile, construction work is continuing apace on the two apartments over the shop and the two houses behind, causing much interest from many passers-by.

Room with a view: replacement dwelling project with balcony

Eight years ago, our clients, Dharmista and Jayme, purchased a bungalow in Timperley, with a plan to extend it to create a much bigger home. It soon became clear that there were significant problems, not only with the roof but also with damp throughout the property.

The previous owner had tried various remedial works to try and solve the damp problems but without success. Our clients decided that the best option for them would be to demolish the existing property and embark on a self-build project.

Building your own home: the build progresses quickly

Not having done a self-build before, our client Suzanne didn’t really know what to expect of the actual building process. Despite some Covid-related delays, her self-build project is now back on schedule. The bricklaying is finished, the roof is complete, the windows are about to be installed and Suzanne and her husband are planning to move into their new house before the end of the year.
