A luxury 5 bed home with beautiful lake views

What was your main reason for wanting to buy a New-Build?

No maintenance issues – we had an old period property before which we did enjoy but we felt it was time to have a new-build where you have the great new facilities, the warmth, lovely bathrooms, lovely kitchen and just easy to look after with a 10-year guarantee.

What first attracted you to this CB Home House?

It was the wow factor!!! You see the houses with the glass and the oak and they look stunning, the location was stunning and it was one of those ‘I want to live there’ moments.

What do you like most about the design of your house?

I think it is lovely that CB Homes have integrated an oak structure. It’s a modern house but with character as well. The design of the oak with the glass means you can see the view from every angle it is just perfect how they have done it. Also, I would like to say the flow of the house – as a family home, not too big, not too small, everything flows.

Did you have any specific requirements, how were these met?

No – the only thing I wanted changing was the paint on the handmade kitchen. A darker grey had originally been done but the colour just wasn’t for me. We spoke to CB homes and they changed it without a problem.

What was the buying process like for you?

It was a bit stressful initially as CB Homes wanted somebody who had already exchanged and was in a position ready to proceed. When we first showed our interest we had a sale agreed but had not exchanged and apparently there were two other parties in a similar position so it was whoever could exchange first. So, it was a bit like – is it going to be them, is it going to be us? However, it did work out in the end.

CB Homes have done a lovely job and I think being a small company the houses they build are all unique. I would recommend.

How did you find the build process with CB Homes?

When we first saw the house, the roof was on and the majority of choices had been made; they were putting the bathrooms in, the kitchen was going in at the time. The tiles had already been chosen. I liked everything thankfully I liked the choices that CB Homes had made. The only change was one set of tiles which CB Homes changed without any problem.

What were your high and low points of buying a new build?

The high point was moving in, however the low point was that the completion date was delayed so we had to arrange multiple short term accommodation. It was quite fun at first, but the moving between different lets was tedious. I know there are always delays but it just went on a bit longer than expected. But when we moved in and we were boxes galore we were so happy it was all forgotten. It’s never straight forward and we do understand that – it just took a bit longer than we anticipated.

What are your homes best features?

There is nothing nicer than just sitting here in the family room watching the world go by and just looking out at the view. It’s easy to maintain, to look after and to clean. I love the thoughtful design, and the ease at which the house flows. It is a beautiful home and you never take it for granted because who wouldn’t want to live here.

What was the best buy on your new-build property?

All of it! I couldn’t say just one thing – I’m happy with it all.

What was your biggest extravagance?

The coffee machine. My husband really wanted an integrated coffee machine which cost around £1800 which is a lot of money for a coffee machine. It is amazing so we are glad we did it.

What are your home running costs like?

They are cheaper than before. The gas is tanked LPG which is probably a touch more expensive than I thought but overall it is still better than our previous home.

I love the thoughtful design, and the ease at which the house flows. It is a beautiful home and you never take it for granted because who wouldn’t want to live here.

What are your ‘top tips’ for new homeowners?

Be patient – it will be worth it in the end.

Please sum up your CB Home.

It is a beautiful home. For an after-service, CB Homes do as they say they get the snagging list done and they do follow up with everything. CB Homes have done a lovely job and I think being a small company the houses they build are all unique. I would recommend and yes, I would buy again.
