What was your main reason for wanting to buy New-Build?

I have always wanted to have a new build, I thought it would be great to have a blank canvas to start from and have all the guarantees that come along with a new build.

How did you first hear of CB Homes? What first attracted you to this CB Home house?

I went on holiday to Colorado in America with my friend and she took me to see one of her friends, they were all aware I was looking to buy a property and her friend asked where I was wanting to live, to which I replied Tarporley in Cheshire. To my surprise she said she had a friend who worked for a bespoke building company in Tarporley and she would ask her to get in touch with me. When they did get in touch, I found out that CB Homes were building in the Tarporley area so I made an appointment and the development they were building at the time was perfect for me.

It is not an everyday new build, the amount of detail and the level of finish is excellent.

What do you like most about the design of your house?

I love the cottage style front door and oak porch situated in the middle of the house, I love the family room at the back with the open plan design integrating the kitchen, dining area, and staircase leading up to an open plan. I also like the little alcoves in the kitchen and in the downstairs cloakroom.

Also, the nice little extras I only noticed after I moved in like the door stops which are all put in in very sensible places and are essential, the external lights, power sockets and painted garage floors

Did you have any specific requirements, how were these met?

The range of choices and finishing touches you have with a CB Homes new build really ensure you don’t need any additional items however I did request an insert for the cutlery drawer in the kitchen which was provided.

What was the buying process like for you?

As expected on the run up to Christmas the solicitors dragged their feet a little bit but I found CB Homes legal procedures and weekly follow up calls to be extremely helpful, keeping me informed of everything that was happening and what information was required at which stage which kept thing progressing.

How did you find the build process with CB Homes?

I found it excellent, everyone was very accommodating. If I had any questions CB Homes always gave me answers in a timely and professional manner. The communication was very good. The only slight downside was the completion date, it was initially scheduled in to be completed by November but I didn’t end up completing until December which was stressful due to being close to Christmas.

How involved did you get in the build process?

I didn’t get involved with the build process at all as I was very happy with the design. The only involvement I had was choosing the Finishing Touches such as Tiling, and Kitchen. I really just enjoyed watching it being built and seeing the different stages of the build take place.

What were your high and low points of buying a new build?

The low point was the completion date being delayed. The high point was moving into a completely new build home that is ready for you to make your own.

What are your home’s best features?

The general character of the house, it is not an everyday new build, the amount of detail and the level of finish is excellent. The Neff, slide and hide ovens and also induction hobs are also fantastic.

What are your ‘Top Tips’ for new home owners?

Organisation… be well organised and keep on top of things for example measuring for carpets and curtains in advance and being prepared for home completion so you can move in and not have to wait for anything.

It is exceedingly well built; I love all the features and the general character and feel of my home. Friends and visitors have been very complimentary about the house and the build.

Yes, I would definitely buy one again for its quality, design, and the approachability of all the staff who work with CB Homes was second to none.
