Since our founding in 1981, we have always used companies we know and trust. Whenever we can we like to work with local tradespeople and suppliers. This means they understand exactly what we need and we can guarantee the high quality of their work. We can be confident that they will do a great job for our customers.
Local craftsmanship
We are very fortunate that the finest craftsmanship is often available right on our doorstep too. When we were designing our award-winning Mill Pool development in Eaton, the design called for a beautiful curved door. We called on the services of Custom Precision Joinery, just across the border into North Wales.
They made us a fabulous bespoke door, which was perfect for the unique look of the house. Custom Precision Joinery’s team of skilled craftsmen have years of knowledge and experience. This, combined with new cutting edge technology, enables them to offer products and services that are professionally designed and constructed to an extremely high quality.
They use traditional sustainable timbers in their manufacturing as well as Accoya, which is a modified, sustainably produced timber. Accoya is based on the acetylation of plantation-grown softwood, which has only been produced on a commercial scale in the last few years. It resists rot and stays strong for decades. It’s so robust it can even be used to build bridges that are permanently submerged in water, so it’s ideal for manufacturing all kinds of exterior timber products.
Local area knowledge
As long as you never have to compromise on efficiency and quality, working with other local businesses can be so rewarding.
When local firms do business with each other, the wealth generated as a result remains in the local economy, meaning that the positive impact to completing a transaction benefits the wider community too.
Local partnerships
Another advantage to dealing with local suppliers is the face to face contact involved, often far preferable to the anonymity of online transactions.
Working with people who are really familiar with your company’s ethos and culture makes for an excellent partnership. It’s fantastic when you can work with someone you have met at a local networking event for example. Organisations like the Chambers of Commerce, the Federation of Small Businesses and the Institute of Directors are excellent at organising regional events where it’s easy to make local connections. Engaging with local business really helps engage local customers too, especially when you are showcasing regional products.
